I sure hope St. Jim was able to salvage the wreckage left by the newbies.
I think it's a little more obvious now to everyone that when there is an odd day, the best thing to do is to let her be alone. There is no use trying to reason with her and tell her how things will/can be better. We children need to tread lightly when we are with her and do our best to keep her in a peaceful state of mind. It is during those times that she is talking more about ALFs. Perhaps this week's strategy should be for her children to be the good guys and let her friends/siblings bring up the subject of alternate living situations.
Here's a special note for Michael and Stuart...even when she was of sound mind and body, she didn't like sarcasm nor did she find it humorous. I'm guessing that she particularly doesn't care for it now. ***that's just a little lesson for the day***
I'm sure we'll be able to share more ideas and strategies tomorrow. Board meeting at 10:00 at the Double T Diner at the corner of Joppa and Belair roads. Dann'ys party at 2:00.

I'm not pretty drunk, no matter what Levelle says. I'm not pretty when I'm sober either.
But I do agree with her point-of-view, anyway. Best bet: don't set her off.

Posting on behalf of Jim. When he got there, she was on the front porch and mad. Even though she had her keys, she was locked out. Jim helped her figure that out and removed the car keys from her ring (on top of the china closet, now). Only keys left are front and back door keys which should be less confusing. They had dinner and talked about AL, believe it or not. Jim told about his family's experiences. Mom calmed down a lot by the time he left. Even though she started the visit by saying she didn't want to see anyone tomorrow (Saturday), by the end she agreed to letting us take her to Mass. We're about to leave for that.
2 funny things:
1. If no one came by, her plan was to sleep in the car. (Maybe we should put those keys back on her ring)
2. At the beginning anyway, she was still furious with 2 people: Michael and Danny! So, you're off the hook, Stuart :)

PS: I think we should get a locksmith to change all locks to a single key and replace the deadbolt on the front door with one you don't need a key for on the interior.

No, the wallet was not on the porch. Those two ladies from the beach house must have taken it. Once we figure out who they are, we'll call the police.
Also, Mom was having a laugh at the guy who was helping her with the keys yesterday. He didn't know that one key operated both the handle and dead bolt on the back door. What a dolt. :rolleyes: :p
