1955
Danny enjoys getting spoiled.

1956
Dad educating Danny & Leland about Santa Claus.

1957
Danny, Leland & Jack (in the box)

1958
Danny & Leland get Michael excited about Christmas and our first fireplace.

1959
Stuart joins the family and we now have all of Mom's "kids for fun".
Why didn't that fireplace burn our backs?

1960
Megan's arrival crowded the mantelpiece.
I think we were keen to start opening presents.

...and another from 1960 because it was too good to omit (Megan was sleeping in)

1961
MIA

1962
A photo rescued from Uncle Larry's collection.

1963
Too busy explaining why Mom wasn't joining us this Christmas.  (Paul's coming out party)

1964
(not 1963 as noted on the back.  Mom wasn't home at Kitimore Rd. for Christmas in 1963)
The first Christmas in Rosebank and the beginning of the stair ritual.  Paul is still sleeping late on his first birthday.

Waiting for Levelle to join the photos

1968
Christmas Eve in pajamas, admiring the latest addition.  Cut the Hollywood!

1969 - 1970
contributions?

1971
Quinn just had to find this one!  Seriously folks, cut the Hollywood!

1972
 Most are smiling

1973
Christmas hairdos all set and ready.  It was the '70's afterall!

1974
(according to Mom's corrected notation)
With Michael counting his money

1975
A clean-cut family Christmas

1975
Dad and Mom-less

1976
(according to Mom's notation and Kodak stamp on back)
Clean-cut, smiling and book-end body guards

1977
With Stuart on his way to Duke and Danny with his new job (porn-star banker)

1978 - 1979
photos please

1980
Thanks Quinn!

1981
Some of us were less keen to wake up early for Christmas presents.

1982
Dan and Leland were Christmasing with their families in the morning
while the studs and studdettes were posing on the stairs. (OMG!)

1983
Back on the stairs.

1984
Spouses make it to the stairs and Andy demonstrating parallels.

1985
MIA

1986
Where is fireplace?

1987 (or very early 1988)

1989
(at least that is the best guess so far with the assumption being
that the munchkin on the right is 26 month-old Shannon)

1990, 1991, 1992, 1993
Were there Christmases in those years?

1994?
Danny got a Mt Carmel Road sign this year.  In Quinn's basement.  FYI, I have another photo taken seconds later or earlier where everyone in the back row looks happy and everyone in the front row (except, of course, Levelle) looks silly.

1995
Still in bed, waiting for Santa.

1996
Back to the Kitmore Road "over the bannister" pose

What year? (late 1990's?)
One of my favorites.  In Quinn's living room

1998?
I believe that this was at Stuart's rehearsal dinner.

2000
Stuart is a new father, Paul gets shy and Leland models her version of the ugly Christmas sweater.

2001
All of us face a phalanx of photographers

2002
Scrunching to get into the photo

2003
Dad joins in for another rare appearance in the Christmas photo

2004
so out of focus that it is embarrassing

2005
Christmas orbs make their presence.

2006
Offsprinkles - YES, Spinkles - NO

2007
Drinking too much

2008
The 47th take for this photo.  We were tired.  We were missing Dad.

2009
A happy Christmas (as always), Leland forgot to change clothes

2010
Bowlin' for dowlars in Balmer

2011
Christmas at Dan & Lisa's

2012
Christmas without Mom for the first time since 1963. (First time ever for Paul and Levelle)

2013
Year determined by process of elimination

2014
Paul was keeping an eye on the Ravens' score

16/20ths of the Off-sprinkles with Elizabeth standing in for Angela, Bob standing
in for Bobby, and Pete doing double duty by standing in for Alex and Vincent.

2015
The best attempt of the 40 photos taken with Michael's camera.

2016
We had trouble getting everyone on the stairs at the same time.

2017
early photo at Leland & Matt's wedding

2018
No photos from this year.  Except Dan, we were all together at Levelle's house for Smithmas but we were having such a great time, no one remembered to head for the steps until after some of us had left.  Later, on Christmas day at Quinn's, Dan was there but some others were back home or working.... but we forgot again anyway.  Darn Alzheimer's! [editted to add that this was our last Christmas all together for a couple of years.  In 2019, Michael was back at Thanksgiving instead of Christmas and COVID got in the way of 2020]

2021
Even during an early December COVID Zoom call, most of us made it to the stairs for the traditional Christmas family photo.  Leland's rancher and the weight of Michael's PC prevented two of us from getting to the stairs too but we're all there in spirit!

2023
June crab cakes instead of crabs. Danny & Lisa pulled out at the last minute due to infection spreading possibilities but seven of us together seems like a record in recent times and who knows what Christmas will bring.
