No hesitation from Uncle Bob. We need to get her into ALF. He (and Uncle Jim) is willing to deliver the message or prepare the road in whatever way we need. He and Uncle Jim are already planning on lunch next Thursday, so we should let him know what we need. He knows the hard part is getting her there. She will acclimate and improve as time goes on.
He said unfortunately this type of problem is in the O'Conor genes (thank goodness I am adopted). He gave specific examples of Uncle Will's radical and precipitous decline, Aunt Helen's issues at the end and Uncle Bill's mental state for several years at the end.
He also suggested the strategy of prompting Aunt Melmarie to say she thinks Mom should stay home. That way, Mom will be waiting with her bags packed on the front porch :)
BTW, in case you were wondering, Mom's father is her real father.
People, we may need to do this en mass. so prepare yourselves.
