Not to push Leland's idea down from the top post but I just got some pretty exciting "bad news, good news". Good old Uncle Joe passed away (may he rest in peace) but I just heard from his lawyer. Don't worry. I am sure everyone will get an equal share.

Story Blog
I was thinking it would be fun to write some stories here for posterity (and any children/grandchildren who would be interested) I recently found a cassette tape of Kate teling stories that Dad had told her. I don't remember too many stories from his childhood and I wish I did. Somebody write about playing Ghost in the Graveyard, or the Corn Man...

Jet lag is a real bugger
We're back in Singapore just in time to get just as badly jet-lagged as I was in Baltimore. Those trips to Baltimore are long, expensive, tiring but well worth it. It was great to see everyone and I already miss spending time with you all, Mom, Alex, all the outlaws, nieces and nephews and friends.
Regarding visits to Mom, I guess I am glad to say that I saw a more deterioration in most of the other residents than I did in Mom. Physically, she is obviously weaker and on several days she showed signs of being in some pain (either her butt or stomach). Walking is more of a problem but I didn't notice much difference since July in her mental state. We had only one visit where she showed intense anger at anything and anyone but that was quite late in the afternoon. Most days she was happy and chatty with maybe only two other visits marked by mainly "who are you and where am I" looks. A few times she cried about something but that was fairly quickly fixed by talking to her about something else. The best distraction - Mom really does love eating cookies. I felt bad bribing her like a child but it worked and kept her happy. Of course I wasn't around when the sugar high wore off so I don't know the whole story.
BTW, as we were leaving on the last day, the short chubby lady that looks like she runs the place said to us "you sure are dedicated to your Mother". I replied that we are there every day because we are only in town for a few weeks every year. She said, "No, I mean your whole family. Your Mother gets more real visitors than anyone else." That is because Mom was dedicated to us.
Peace and happy holidays.

Kris Kringle party
Hi all,
1.Welcome home Michael and Melanie!
2.I wanted to make sure everyone knows that the KK party is at Danny and Lisa's on Saturday and it starts at 4pm.
3.I know Stuart and Trudy would like to get out of town early on Sunday. Could we consider doing a bowling party early on Saturday for the younger kids (and older ones if they would like) and an older kids get-together on Sunday(younger too if the older ones would like to take them to the bar with them!).
Just a thought. We can do either.
