Greetings from the terribly hot, very red state of Utah. Thanks to one and all who have been with Mom since I left. I do intend to jump in and help when I return. I'm sure you all will let me know when and how to help.

Just in case you're curious and hadn't heard, my team finished in fourth place in our 8-ball tournament. (Fourth out of 23 teams) We won a whopping $500 for our efforts. We were a bit nervous to begin with. It was a double elimination tournament, each match was a race to ten wins. We lost the first match, but yours truly pulled off a crucial win (the score was tied at 9) in the second match. On the second day we won 5 straight matches. I was much less nervous and was shooting very well, pulling my weight. On the third day we had to shoot at 9 a.m. That's too early! We lost 10-6.

The good thing about losing is leaving Las Vegas, though Leland will be happy to return, as she's planning a Vegas wedding now.
